Taste and See

Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Psalm 34:8 NIV

Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see-how good God is. Blessed are you who run to him. (Message version) 

Discover for yourself that the LORD is kind. Come to him for protection, and you will be glad. (CEV)

Find out for yourself how good the LORD is. Happy are those who find safety with him. (GNT)

This verse is inviting us to discover who Christ is for OURSELVES. We are not to take the word of others telling us who He is. We are not to trust the sources on the internet, our pastors, or friends, as their perspective could be skewed. We are to discover for ourselves and once we do that we will see that He is good and we can trust Him and take refuge in Him. If you have not discovered who Christ is, I implore you to take time to do your own research (don't take my word for it!) and discover Who He is.
