I first saw this idea on Jennifer's blog and thought it was a great idea. The idea is to pick one photo from the month, a photo to highlight the month. Jennifer is using the photo to recap the month and at the end of the year see a recap of the year.

Not Ready
Christmas is quickly approaching and I am struggling to believe it is only a week away. I find myself thinking of how I am not ready. I haven't finished shopping. I don't feel like it is Christmas. I feel like the season is passing us by and I haven't had time to stop and enjoy it.
Why?

Share Four Somethings-January 2022
I have been pretty quiet this month, not posting very much. It's not for a lack of "want to" but more of a "freeze up" when I attempt to write anything. This happens when I am dealing with a heavier dose of depression, I always get quiet, apparently so do my thoughts when it comes time to talk. It seems like forever since my last post on sharing four somethings, even though time still seems to be moving at a rapid pace. Anyway, welcome back to share four somethings, a monthly link-up hosted by Heather Gerwing (thank you Heather!) where you literally share four somethings on the fourth Saturday of the month. The categories are Something Loved, Something Gleaned, Something Braved, and Something Achieved (new topics for a new year!). Even if you do not participate in the link-up, I would love to hear your four somethings from the last month.

It's tradition...and I'm traditional

Thanksgiving day and I get blank stares. As I was thinking of putting them up the phrase "it's tradition and I'm traditional" was marching through my head. Dr. Doofenshmirtz (the bad guy in Phineas and Ferb) sings that line in their version of the Twelve Days of Christmas.

I got to spend Fourth of July in Tennessee, seeing two of my siblings and their families. This is a picture of me with my brother and younger sister. To hear more about this trip or just look at all the pictures you can click here.

4th of July 2021
We typically travel for all major holidays. That has been our tradition since the kids were young. With my family scattered across three states and close friends in other states, we travel. Last year we didn't get to because of Covid, so we were super excited to be able to go to Tennessee this year. We stayed with my sister, brother-in-law, and niece. We mostly hung out in or around the pool, except one day that Jennifer and I decided to go shopping. We decided to go to Target and on the way there we decided we would stop at Marshall's on our way back home. After Marshall's we were too tired to do anything else and the kids were disappointed that we were home so soon 😂😂 We were just so tired (me from traveling, her from her job and busy week), that we couldn't think of anything else to do and didn't need to buy anything else. Jennifer joked that we were getting old and couldn't party as hard as we used too...I won't lie, there is truth in that statement 😂😂 Saturday night we made

Anniversary/Beach mini-vacay
knew we all needed it. We were planning to take Junior (our puppy) with us, but as it got closer we decided to find someone to watch him. I am so thankful we did because we got the break from "life" that we needed. It was not nearly long enough, but it was a fantastic time away. We were not on a schedule and we had no specific plans, mostly to hang out, reconnect, and do stuff that we love, together and that is exactly what we did.
