I started this post on Saturday but life has been incredibly busy!
Something Loved
Being able to follow my heart...which this (past) weekend led me to Ohio. I spent the weekend with my daughter, catching up, helping her sort through a few things, feeding her and her friends...and then attending her choir concert Sunday evening. It was a short trip but well worth it. It was also very cold and snowy!! I was super surprised!
Something Gleaned
Last month I was reading Love Does by Bob Goff and this quote stuck out to me:
Living a life fully engaged and full of whimsy and the kind of things that love does is something most people plan to do, but along the way they just kind of forget. Their dreams become one of those "we'll go there next time" deferrals. The sad thing is, for many there is not "next time" because passing on the chance to cross over is an overall attitude toward life rather than a single decision. They need a change of attitude, not more opportunities.
I highly recommend this book! My review is here and another post I wrote on it is here.
Something Braved
I have joined two nanny companies to put my toe back in the work force. My son will be graduating in May and I feel like I need to be doing something to contribute financially. I had my first job this past week and it went well. The thing I love is that is not a regular schedule, I can fit it in where it needs to go. I can work as little or as much as I want (assuming jobs come up).
Something Achieved
I am not actually sure what I achieved this month...a small paycheck? That's all I've got 😂
So, what about you? What is something that you have loved in this month? Something you have gleaned? Something achieved and something brave? I would love to hear from you!
"To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen." Philippians 4:20
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17
I'm so glad you were able to spend time with your daughter, Cindy. Thanks for the book recommendation. And I hope you have wonderful experiences loving on kids through nannying again.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa.
