Interesting stuff that has happened on July 19

This year I am turning 43- so I thought it would be interesting to share facts that happened on this day. Maybe add in some movie releases or book releases...and some interesting July facts. I have never researched stuff from this day before and found it very interesting and enlightening. Have you ever done something like this for your birthday? Or anything else? There is so much to learn and really too many facts to list. I narrowed it down by what was most interesting to ME and I imagine if you did the same day some of the stuff would be the same and others would be more interesting to you.
