Weary. Tired. Worn-out. Fatigued. Beat. Spent. Exhausted. Bushed. Drained. Burned out. Done in. All of these words essentially mean the same thing and describe how I feel most days lately. Add in stressed and overwhelmed and that about sums it up. It's a hard feeling and it makes me introspective. I start wondering what do I need to do to stop feeling this way? What should I drop? Can I drop anything? Right now, the answer is no, I can't drop anything...even though I am being pushed to drop a few things. I know I need to but right now I don't see a way.

Get rid of it reprise-Thursday encouragement
I am revamping a blog post from 2016. Why, because it is still applicable today. And, because I hope to offer a bit of encouragement. At the beginning of this summer I started cleaning things out. I am tired of being surrounded by things we do not need or use anymore. I sent a bunch of clothes to our church yard sale in May. I also sent some books and the kids went through our movies and their toys. Then we took more books to 2nd and Charles (we won't talk about how we came home with more 😂). I am still in the process of getting rid of things and hopefully at the end of the weekend my house will have less books and beds. Yet, I have been wondering what else I was holding onto that I did not need.

Interesting stuff that has happened on July 19
This year I am turning 43- so I thought it would be interesting to share facts that happened on this day. Maybe add in some movie releases or book releases...and some interesting July facts. I have never researched stuff from this day before and found it very interesting and enlightening. Have you ever done something like this for your birthday? Or anything else? There is so much to learn and really too many facts to list. I narrowed it down by what was most interesting to ME and I imagine if you did the same day some of the stuff would be the same and others would be more interesting to you.

Have you read any of the books that were popular from 1978? I have actually read them all over the years, but didn't know they were the most popular from 1978 until I did this research. God Showed Up
I started this post this morning and as most days go I am just getting back to it. I had first titled it "Monday Blues" and it started like this...I am struggling this morning. I am depressed and moody and trying to be okay to not affect the mood in the house. Can anyone relate? I know part of it is that I am WAY overtired. I also know another part of it is a situation that I can't see a way out of. Knowing those things doesn't exactly help. So, in case you are struggling too, I wanted to do a quick post with some (hopefully) funny content!
Then, God showed up...

I was slapped today
Okay, not literally, but figuratively. Here I am minding my own business and within an hour I had two personal attacks. I will not give all the details (even though the two people are not likely to read my blog), but the message was the same...
I am better than you.
You are not good enough.
Well, I was already overtired and emotional before those two slaps and it was not what I needed. But, you know what? I don't care. I refuse to give in to those two lies...
Here is the truth...they might be better than me. But, I don't care. You know why? Because I am exactly who God created me to be. Those people do not need to like me, and life is not a comparison game. They might compare themselves to me and find me lacking, but I am not comparing myself to them. There's no need. I know who I am and I know Whose I am.
The second...you are good enough...well, I struggle a bit more with that one. I have always had low self-esteem and confidence and after going through a season of intense bullying I lost my voice for a while. I am still fighting my way back. But, God is faithful, I am a work in progress and I do not need to find my worth in what other people think. I need to keep my eyes on the Author and Perfecter of my faith. I still feel the need to cry, but I did before the two attacks came, so it's just one of those days.
What lies have people told you lately? If you need to know the truth of who you are, read Ephesians chapter one and meditate on the fact God chose YOU! He created you and me and He is the One who gets to tell us when/where we are failing, not random people who have no say in our lives. Always look for the truth in comments, but also take the time to stop and consider the source.

4th of July 2021
We typically travel for all major holidays. That has been our tradition since the kids were young. With my family scattered across three states and close friends in other states, we travel. Last year we didn't get to because of Covid, so we were super excited to be able to go to Tennessee this year. We stayed with my sister, brother-in-law, and niece. We mostly hung out in or around the pool, except one day that Jennifer and I decided to go shopping. We decided to go to Target and on the way there we decided we would stop at Marshall's on our way back home. After Marshall's we were too tired to do anything else and the kids were disappointed that we were home so soon 😂😂 We were just so tired (me from traveling, her from her job and busy week), that we couldn't think of anything else to do and didn't need to buy anything else. Jennifer joked that we were getting old and couldn't party as hard as we used too...I won't lie, there is truth in that statement 😂😂 Saturday night we made

Wait Expectantly
We'll take a quick pause for a little definition clarification. What does it mean to be expectant? Some definitions are:
- to think of as likely to happen or come
- to think or believe (that something will happen)
- full of hope or expectation
