My Review:

Three Missing Days by Colleen Coble is the third book in the Pelican Harbor series, but it can be read as a standalone. I would highly recommend reading the first two books before reading this one as you might miss a few things. I did not realize that I had not read the second book before I started reading this one, but I had read the first so I had a good idea of what was going on in the book.

Colleen Coble is a masterful writer, writing riveting suspense novels that capture you from the first moment until the last. Her plot development and character development are solid, every time she writes a book. A common theme in her books is that it is hard to figure the bad guy out until the end, making her suspense novels on another level from other writers of suspense.

Three Missing Days caught my attention from the first line "I know what you did." What follows is a complicated web of deceit that started many years ago and it is hard to know who to trust and who is involved. 

Jane has trust issues, but if you had been through what she had been through you would have trust issues as well. In some ways her life is like Job, she loses everything, but then the Lord gives back tenfold. I think her trust issues and doubts make her more relatable and her raw emotions in this book more real. She has to be strong for her job but the circumstances in this book break her in a way we had not seen before.

Reid is struggling with Lauren popping back into his and Will's life and bitter that when everything he has ever wanted is finally in his grasp, she comes back to ruin things. He is stunned by Will being charged with murder and he desperately wants to take the accusation upon himself. He struggles in his faith, struggles to see where God is at in all this, and struggles with if it really will turn out for good.

There are many layers to this book, as avid fans of Coble have come to expect. While most things are made clear and resolution is found, you are still left with a few questions. I wonder what Jane's relationship with her mother will be, or if she will even have one with her.

Overall, this is another great suspense novel from Coble and not to be missed (although read the first two books first). Fans of Lynette Eason, Terri Blackstock, Elizabeth Goddard, Lynn Blackburn, Irene Hannon, and Patricia Bradley will enjoy this one. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good clean mystery that will keep you turning the pages long after the lights should have been turned off.
