"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." 1 Peter 3:15

Mycenae

This past Saturday we went to Mycenae to explore the ruins there. I think we could be here forever and never see all the ruins that are here. Greece is amazingly rich with History and we will do our best to explore while we are here. We headed to Mycenae and Matt had put in the wrong spot on the GPS. We ended up on a dirt, rock unnamed road. Suddenly I felt like I was transported into the Cars movie where that one car is in the middle of nowhere and the husband says to his wife "Never need a map again honey, I have a GPS!" So, he continues to head down the wrong road. That was totally us. Matt's like I don't think this is right and I am like it's what you put in the GPS. Plus the signs kept saying there was an archaeological site. So, surely we were going the right way? Nope. Finally an old farmer working in the olive groves stopped us and asked us in Greek and some English where we going. When Matt told him in his English and little bit of Greek (very thankful for the classes he has been taking!) the man said "Turn around! You are on the wrong road." A very profound statement. I think to often we find ourselves on the wrong road. Anyway, the man asked us where we were from, where we lived etc. He has sons who live in the states and he had lived there for 5 years with his wife in the 1970's. He moved back to Greece because the states wasn't good for his wife. She had problems. That's how he described his wife several times. He was very sweet and I thankful he helped us out.
