"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." 1 Peter 3:15

Share Four Somethings July 2025

July was a super busy month with paddle boarding lessons, getting a whole year older (how does that happen over night?), moving Kayla to Columbus, extra doctors appointments, and extra days at the gym. My new job is going well, and I can't
believe summer is almost over. I am not ready for fall/winter yet. Our prompts for the Share Four Somethings link-up are some things we loved, some
things we learned, some things that went well, and some things we let go of. We are linking up with Jennifer

Something Loved

I loved getting to meet authors Jaime Jo Wright and Amy Lynn Green at the Columbus Book festival! You can see all my thoughts on that here.

Something Learned

Matt and I signed up for 6 hours of paddle boarding classes! It was divided into 2-hour increments, for three weeks. We have had the first four hours, and the final two are on Monday (which I will not be able to attend). We had a blast our first class and was surprised we were able to stand and paddle! I was surprised not to fall in during the first lesson, but had we been on a lake that allowed boats, I am sure that would have been a different story, LOL! The second class was much harder for me. I was super tired, I didn't feel like I had the rhythm right, even though I was moving, and I hit some debris in the water that sent me airborne. It was a windy 74 degrees which made for a miserable second hour, LOL! I think we both prefer kayaking over paddle boarding, but I am so glad we tried something new and gave it our best effort. (no pictures of us on our paddle boards because we were not risking our phones to the water!)

Something That Went Well

I was able to blog more with this blog this month, which makes me happy. My book blog gets a lot of my time and attention, so I was thrilled to get more posts in this month. It has been a goal since last year, so I would love to keep the momentum going. I have also gotten into a great workout routine (until this last week when a health issue took me down), but I am hoping to get right back into it. Finally, we move Kayla to Columbus, which also went well. She will start her new job tomorrow. You can read more about that here.

Something I Let Go Of

Well, I am completely blanking on this one this month!

"To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen." Philippians 4:20

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17

What is something you have loved, learned, went well, or let go of this month?? To see what other bloggers are sharing this month head over to Jennifer's blog.

  1. Your paddleboarding classes sound fun! I'm glad to hear the move went well. I bet it was a lot of fun to meet those authors. We don't have any local bookstores so I've never been to an author meet and greet before.

  2. Good for you trying something new. I should tried that more. Right now, I cannot think what that would be. I don't think it would be paddleboarding!?! I hope Kayla loves her new place. Here's to a good August ahead!!

  3. How fun you got to meet the authors. My local book store does author meet-ups a lot, but I haven't gone yet. Yay for you for taking paddle boarding classes! I'm impressed.

My month has been crazy because we decided to FINALLY get our house repainted and get new flooring. But, oh my, I didn't realize how much work it would take on my part to just get the house ready for someone else to come in and do the actual work! ha.

    1. Lisa, house projects always take a lot of work, whether we are doing the work or not, LOL!

  4. Paddle boarding - looks like fun, but not sure I have enough balance to do that. Children moving out, is hard, but so much fun watching them soar! Pray all goes well with your daughter and her new job!
