Yesterday, Kayla took a big leap and moved to Columbus! She will be an hour and 40 minutes from us. I've had multiple questions and I will do my best to answer them in this post. (the black marks on the house are me marking out the address)
Kayla has been struggling since she graduated college. She does not have friends in Brunswick, having gone to school in Mount Vernon, and her Church is in Mansfield. Once she graduated, the majority of her friends live near Columbus. In March, she asked me and Matt if hypothetically, if she moved out, would it be okay. Um, yes!

Her and a friend had been talking about moving to Columbus and rooming together in an apartment. Kayla was so excited and we were excited for her. They went and visited a few places and Kayla came back even more excited. Unfortunately, her friend decided to back out, staying at home with her mom since things are so expensive. Kayla was bummed and we were disappointed for her. Not long after that, one of her friends heard about young lady at church who was looking for a roommate in Columbus. He got the two of them connected, they started texting and met up. They have a lot of similar interests, but she wasn't sure if another one of her friends was going to move to Columbus or not. This put Kayla in a waiting pattern. In the meantime, she was still looking for jobs in Columbus, and here in Brunswick as well. With us closing our business, Kayla was going to need a full-time job.

Long story short, months went by and Kayla knew she was going to be able to room with Hannah and Alex but she had to get a job. Toward the end of the June she had a job interview at a daycare in Columbus and got the job! She will be working full-time as an infant teacher (following in my footsteps, LOL). I am excited for her and this opportunity.

So, yesterday, Kayla moved in with her new friends, into a 3-bedroom duplex. A few of her friends, including her BFF Julie, met us at the house and helped move her in. Elijah had to work, but there were so many people there (Hannah was moving in at the same time and had family and a large group of friends helping), that it was probably for the best. Hannah's family and friends helped Kayla move her stuff in as well. Hannah's dad bought the group pizza, fruit and veggies for lunch. I couldn't partake so I went out and got a few more things that Kayla needed. Matt said the lunch conversation was very God-centric and that this group will be good for Kayla. I talked to her today and she said she thinks it's going to be a good situation for her. So, how are we feeling, happy and relieved that it has worked out for her.

We were able to meet Hannah's mom and dad, since they were helping Hannah move in as well. She told me that Kayla was an answer to prayer, which I was able to respond back with, Hannah was an answer to prayer as well. We had been praying that God would provide a roommate, we did not want Kayla to live by herself when she first moved out. We are very grateful and thankful for answered prayers.
For me and Matt it kind of feels like moving her into college because she wasn't able to take all of her things. Her room is so small that the only thing that would have fit into it was her bed, so she didn't take it. We ended up buying her a bed that could be lofted to help with the space in her room. They have a one-year lease, so we will see what happens in the next year.

For now, can you join us in praying for Kayla as she steps into this new chapter? Pray for her as she starts her new job on July 28th. While she is super excited to be working with infants, it will also be her first time working 40-hour work weeks. She will be working 4 10-hour days, which will be fabulous, and she will always have her weekends off, but it will be an adjustment. Not just the hours, but the job as well. Also pray for her and her new roommates as they get used to living together, and get used to each others quirks and things. Pray that they would have open communication with each other and not let things fester. Also, pray for Kayla (and Elijah) as they adjust to not seeing each other every day again. You all know they are super tight. Elijah's got some changes in his future as well, not just this one or our impending move, but other things as well. But, his story is another day. Pray that Kayla stays healthy and gets into a good routine.
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” – Ephesians 6:18
Outakes, LOL!

That house is so CUTE!!! And you and your daughter are twins. I hope she has one of the best years of her life! Ask her and the roomies to PLEASE have the doors locked at all times, no matter how "safe" the neighborhood is.
