"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." 1 Peter 3:15

Tourist for a day-Wallace Lake

In June, I did a google search looking for the beach closest to our house. Imagine my surprise when it is only 15 minutes away!!!  It's called Wallace Lake-so obviously not a beach with an ocean, but a beach with a lake, no matter, I will take it! It is in Berea.

It is a huge area where you can camp, cookout, swim, play beach volleyball, there is a snack stand (serves real food, not just snacks), rent Kayaks, trails for walking...it's great. Matt and I went three times in June and had a blast each time. The water is a little dirty for swimming in, but not the worst lake I have swam in. Some people even fish there. There are no boats allowed on the lake, making it safer for kayaks and paddleboarders, and life guards are on duty for swimming.

Here are pictures I took over the course of our three visits. I will say too, that Father's Day was the busiest day that we have gone, but there was still parking, and it didn't feel terribly crowded, even though there were a ton of people there.

You all, this has been such a blessing to me and Matt. It's like going on a mini-vacay without having to go anywhere. Water is a fabulous reset and it has lowered our stress by taking time out to go and sit by the lake. It has been one of my happy places this summer, much needed.

"To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen." Philippians 4:20

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17
