"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." 1 Peter 3:15

Trego, Wisconsin

Wednesday, day 5 of vacation, was supposed to be a rest day, the day we dropped Kayla with the bride and other bridesmaids, as they had several days of activities planned leading up to the wedding. However, the bride's mom invited us to join them on a family train ride in Trego, Wisconsin and we couldn't pass up the opportunity. We had not met Michaela's family and it would be a good time to get to know them a bit, and have a fun experience. From the website:

"The pizza train is one of our most popular family oriented train rides each season. Choose from pepperoni, sausage or cheese pizza baked fresh in the dining car on the train.  The Pizza Train includes a personal size pizza and your first soda or bottled water. Additional beverages are available from the bar. The trip lasts about 2 hours during which you will see farm fields, deep woods, the scenic Namekagon River and a stop at the Bean Creek Trestle."

Wednesday morning we woke up exhausted. We were stressed with the house we were in, I posted about in my last post, so won't rehash the details, but we also had to pack back up and hope that the house we picked was better when we moved in it that night. We were going to be in it for 3 more nights. My introvert batteries were shot and screaming for some time to rest and refresh, and in some serious need of alone time. So, we were not quite at our best for our visit with Michaela's family. Hopefully, I wasn't quite as grumpy as I remember being 😂 It was a joy meeting Michaela's family, they are very sweet, and interesting people. We enjoyed getting to know them, enjoyed the train ride, and the experience of a dining train ride.

I was too tired to think clearly, so I did not take very many pictures (I know, shocker!) but here are the few I did take:

The following pictures are from the house we stayed in that night and the next few nights. The house was very nice, homey, and relaxing! The only house nearby was across the street and on a farm.

Matt loved the shower (it has 2 heads) so you can call this future bathroom goals 😂

The views outside

After the train ride, Kayla went with her friends and we went to the house. Matt went back out and grabbed dinner, then we spent the evening vegging. It was a great time to just rest and relax.

  1. Glad you found a cute house - it looks super nice. And hooray for an evening to "just veg"....as a fellow introvert, I know how necessary those evenings can be!!
