"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." 1 Peter 3:15

Share Four Somethings August 2025

August was another busy month. I have no idea what really happened. We are starting to have more fall weather days and I am still not quite ready for fall/winter weather. I would love some more warm sunny days. Our prompts for the Share Four Somethings link-up are some things we loved, somethings we learned, some things that went well, and some things we let go of. We are linking up with Jennifer

Something Loved

Matt and I took several hikes this month, mainly to see waterfalls. If interested you can see all the pictures here and here. I have been more consistently walking and exercising this month, and I love that I am so close to hitting my goal for this month of 300,000 steps. Hopefully tomorrow. As I type this I only need 2.987 steps, and Matt and I hope/plan to do another long walk/hike tomorrow morning, which should take care of those last steps!!

MY NEPHEW IS NOW CANCER FREE, praise God! He is 22 and we are praying that he will bounce back quickly, getting his energy back and stuff.

The first two pictures are from our Stanford Trailhead and Brandywine Falls hike at Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

The next three are from our Blue Hen Falls Hike at the same National Park.
Something Learned

Well, this month this prompt is the one I am blanking on. Make no mistake, I am SURE I learned things this month, but apparently they didn't stick 😂😂

Something That Went Well

Our dining room benches have been splitting, probably since we moved into this house, if not before. Earlier this year when Joanne's was going out of business, I bought fabric so they could be redone. My husband completed that project his month! But, not only did he redo the benches with new fabric and padding, he also painted them, and the table, and sealed them as well. They should last at least another 14 years (which is how long we have had the table and benches). Don't ask me why I didn't take better pictures of before and after, including the table, it was a busy/distracted month.  I did several blog posts for this month as well, which is closer to my goal, but not quite there.

Something I Let Go Of

I am still letting go of books. Some once they are read, one that I decided I didn't want to read. I have also been letting go of books from my virtual TBR.

"To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen." Philippians 4:20

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17

What is something you have loved, learned, went well, or let go of this month?? To see what other bloggers are sharing this month head over to Jennifer's blog.

  1. Cindy!! I adore the fabric y'all covered your benches with!! I love that style so much. I've seen it in scrapbooking/stamping materials but never in fabric. The benches look beautiful.

So something I love. I particularly have loved Margaret Feinberg's Bible study, "The God You Need to Know." It is rich, beautiful, creative, and something that really helped me to draw closer to the Holy Spirit.

    Also, your hike photos! Stunning!

  2. I am so glad to read that your nephew is cancer free! That is wonderful news. The bench redo turned out great. I'm always stumped by the "learned" prompt too. I know I learn something new nearly every day but by the end of the month it's all kind of a blur and then I often wonder what's really worth mentioning about having learned!

  3. What a huge answer to prayer that your nephew is cancer free! Your husband did a great job with the bench- very nice. Ok for some reason, this page loaded backwards- in other words, I scrolled up to see the photos and as soon as I saw the nature pictures, I was like, "I think those are from Cuyahoga National Park!" My brother and I plan to hike there in October and I was JUST looking at pictures online of the park. It looks so pretty! Good job on all your walking!
