"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." 1 Peter 3:15

Date day, homes + coffee

One of the things we would love to be able to do is to build our next home. Matt has always wanted a little bit of land (the older I get, the less I desire it), but I get it. He doesn't want to be super close to our neighbors, and he doesn't want to be in a neighborhood.

So, Friday, February 6, I had off work, and Matt took the day off. We headed off to the home builder Schumacher Homes in Akron. They have six model homes available to walk through on site and their main building is set up so you can see all the "standard" items that come with the houses, as well as the upgrades.

Matt and I decided to walk through the two smallest homes because we are not looking for, nor do we want a big house. What I love about this particular vendor is that they automatically build with an unfinished basement.

Once we finished looking and before we could talk to the sales rep we had a little time to kill, so we went to this local coffee shop. I didn't take a picture of the two of us together #fail, but I did manage to get one of this cutie.

These two pictures are from the bathroom.

Sweet potato bowl (it came with eggs and stuff, but I can't eat all that b/c of allergies), and a cranberry loaf bread.
After lunch, we talked to them about the potential of building our next house and left there feeling like maybe. But, honestly, it would take being able to find land at a reasonable price, and for sure cutting out some of the things we really want in our next house. But, at least we got a fun date day in the middle of a very hard season.
