"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." 1 Peter 3:15

Share Four Somethings January 2026

January was a dumpster fire and I don't think I have ever been so ready to flip the calendar to a new month! I won't recap here all the bad from the month, but hopefully will eventually get some posts out about it. We have some new prompts for the Share Four Somethings link-up for this year they are: something we loved, something we are carrying forth from this month to next, something that sustained us, and some thing we are making space for. I will try to get my graphic updated before next month's post, I don't have the mental capacity for it today. We are linking up with Jennifer

Something Loved

Yesterday Matt and I went out to a home builder site and walked through two of their model homes. We are hoping to build our next house, but that will completely depend on whether we can find land or not. We also had lunch at a local coffee shop, and it was nice to have a date for the first time in forever.

Something We Are Carrying Forth from this month to the next

I finished a Atomic Habits by James Clear this month. It is a fabulous book for establishing and keeping habits. I have not had time to implement what I have learned yet, and I want to, so hopefully in February. My review is here, if you are interested in my thoughts on the book.

Something That Sustained Us

Jesus.

Some Things We Are Making Space For

I can't think of what to say for this spot. Maybe hope.

"To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen." Philippians 4:20

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17

  1. Good luck with finding some land. Building a house is quite the process but it's definitely worth it.

    1. Thanks Joanne, I agree, it will be worth it, if we can make it happen.

  2. I'm so sorry that your year has started off so difficult (a dumpster fire?? ugh). Here's to a new month. A fresh reset and looking forward to seeing God's goodness through it all. Saying a prayer for you, my friend.

  3. Sorry January was a difficult month! Wishing you success in finding land and building a house. I've always thought that would be a great venture and experience, but it's also a complicated one. I read Atomic Habits a few years ago and found it very helpful . . . but I'm afraid I haven't kept up with all that I learned.
Sorry I'm so late in commenting - I haven't had a free night all week! Hope you're having a great weekend!
